SB 32 Moves Forward

We are excited to report that on Tuesday afternoon SB 32 passed out of the Assembly Health Committee with a party line vote of 10-5. As you know, SB 32, along with its companion bill AB 1, will finish the job of ensuring that all California children have access to affordable, comprehensive health insurance. For more information, please read our press release, "Crucial Children's Piece of Health Care Reform Continues to Move Forward".

SB 32 next moves to the Assembly Appropriations Committee. AB 1 (Laird/Dymally) will be heard in the Senate Health Committee on July 11. If you have not yet sent in a support letter, there is still time. For a sample support letter, please click here.

Cover California's Kids Radio Ads Air

Cover California's Kids coalition, an effort sponsored by The California Endowment, of which CHK is a partner, continues to promote the issue of coverage for all children in California. Cover California's Kids is currently running apaid radio ad that is based on a true story about a working family that can't afford health coverage for their children.

The ad is currently airing in Bakersfield, Fresno, Los Angeles, Monterey, Palm Springs, Sacramento, Santa Barbara, San Bernardino,and San Diego.
