| Prop. 86 -- New Field Poll Results Released
Field Poll numbers released just yesterday indicate substantial voter support of the Yes on Proposition 86 initiative. The poll found that 63 percent of likely voters support the measure, while 32 percent said they are opposed.
The Field Poll surveyed 762 likely voters between July 10-23 and has
a margin of error

| Budget Summary -- Significant Advances for Kids Health
The 2006-07 California budget includes a number of improvements to the Medi-Cal
and Healthy Families programs to ensure that more eligible children receive
and retain health insurance. While many leaders for children were disappointed
that the legislature failed to include one-time funding to assist local Children's
Health Initiatives, the budget nonetheless provides significant advances toward
the goal of reducing the number of uninsured children in California. Specifically,
