Program Summary
Kaiser Permanente Cares for Kids provides low cost health care coverage for
uninsured children under the age of 19 who are not eligible to participate
in Medi-Cal, Healthy Families or have any other health insurance. This program
has limited availability. Call the number below for more information.
Who is eligible?
Uninsured children birth up to age 19 who are not eligible for other public/private
programs, such as Medi-Cal or Healthy Families, at least one child in the household
is enrolled in any public school, and whose primary income is at or below
300% FPL*.

What are the benefits?
Comprehensive preventive, primary and specialty health care coverage: medical
office visits, vision care, dental services, prescription drugs, mental health
services, substance abuse services, health education, hospital services and
needed lab tests.
How much does it cost?
Premiums paid every month:
- Premiums paid every month: $8 or $15 per child, per month, for up to three
children, depending on your family size and income. Additional children are
covered at no extra premium.Co-payments: paid for services received.
- Co-payments: $5 to $10 for some services.
