Express Lane Eligibility in California

Today, many families wishing to access multiple public services must go through various channels and must submit duplicative information to different public agencies. Very often, a family is enrolled in one public program but not in another, even though family members are eligible and in need of multiple public services. In 2003, California implemented "Express Lane Eligibility" to open more doors through which California's eligible but uninsured children who are enrolled in the School Lunch and Food Stamp programs can obtain Medi-Cal or Healthy Families.
